BROOKLYN — Police are searching for a 25-year-old Suffolk County man who they said attacked and raped his 21-year-old girlfriend in Bensonhurst.
Police said broke into the woman's apartment through a window, choked her in bed, dragged her through the apartment and raped her.
Authorities said the rape was not Evanson’s first attack on the woman, and an order of protection forbid him from seeing her.
He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 6 months in 2012 for assaulting the girlfriend, according to police. A judge ordered him to stay away from her for 2 years after the attack.
Despite the order, he found his way into the Bensonhurst apartment Saturday night at 3 am, according to the NYPD. They would not release the exact location of the attack to protect the victim's privacy.
"He beat up her up pretty good," a police source said.
Authorities described Evanson as 6 feet 2 inches and weighing 150 pounds. He fled in a sedan.
