LOWER EAST SIDE — Soccer fans can meet two players from Germany's prestigious Bayern Munich during an autograph signing session Friday at a Lower East Side bar.

Midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri, fresh from his World Cup appearance for Switzerland, and center back Holger Badstuber, who played in Germany's World Cup squad in 2010, will greet fans at Paulaner, at 265 Bowery, from 5 to 6 p.m.

It gives fans the chance to meet key players in one of the best-ranked club teams in the world, said Markus Tschuschnig, the pub’s general manager.

“It’s pretty exciting to have members of the soccer team here,” he said.

Bayern Munich is one of the most successful teams in Europe. It has won several national and international championships, including the Champions League hosted by the Union of European Football Associations.

The team is currently touring the United States and will play a game against Club Deportivo Guadalajara from Mexico at the Red Bull Arena in New Jersey on Thursday.

Friday's free signing event is part of Paulaner's International Beer Day celebration. There will also be an extended happy hour from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. with a two-for-one special on draft beers brewed on site, wine and cocktails, Tschuschnig said.
