PARK SLOPE — A baby possum wandered into a gourmet Park Slope cheese shop Tuesday, shocking the owner who mistook the animal's curly tail for an onion ring.

Alice Piacenza, who owns The Ploughman on 15th Street and Seventh Avenue, discovered the critter when she was opening the store.

It appeared the animal had gotten itself stuck behind a roll gate. When she found out the tail was no onion ring, Piacenza screamed and called 311, she told DNAinfo New York.

Officers from the NYPD's 78th Precinct used a hook to move the animal into a pet carrier and said they would "release it into the wild" or take it to an animal shelter.
