BROOKLYN — A car passenger died when its drunk driver slammed into the back of a garbage truck in East Flatbush Wednesday morning, police said.

Marquis Willis, 22, was riding south on Utica Avenue in a 2010 BMW sedan with two other men when the car crashed into the northbound truck as it made a left turn from Utica to Avenue D about 1:30 a.m., the NYPD said.

Willis, who lived in East Flatbush on Linden Boulevard, was taken to Kings County Hospital and pronounced dead, an NYPD spokesman said.

The car's 26-year-old driver had been impaired while behind the wheel and was expected to be charged accordingly, a police spokesman said.

The driver and the second passenger, whose names were not released, were taken to Kings County Hospital in stable condition, according to the NYPD.

The sanitation truck's 31-year-old driver was also issued a ticket because he had an open warrant for littering, a police spokesman said. He worked for a private company.
