
THE BRONX — A 17-year-old boy was killed and two other teens wounded at a Wakefield party when someone opened fire on the gathering early Sunday morning, police said.
The boy, Keshon Porterfield, had been partying at 756 E. 232nd St., near Barnes Avenue, about 1 a.m. when a bullet pierced his torso, hit another 17-year-old boy in the right leg and then struck a 17-year-old girl in the left foot, police said.
A person of interest was taken into custody at the scene, but the individual had not been formally charged with as of Monday morning, an NYPD spokesman said.
Porterfield, who lived in Edenwald, and the other boy were taken to Montefiore hospital, police said. Porterfield was pronounced dead and the other teen was listed in stable condition, the NYPD said.
The female victim was in stable condition at Jacobi hospital, police said.
It was not immediately clear what sparked the shooting.
