QUEENS — The Replacements, a trendsetting 1980s alternative rock band, will perform at Forest Hills Stadium this summer — joining an expanding cast of major acts at the recently revived arena, the organizers said.

The Hold Steady, a Brooklyn-based rock group, and the Rhode Island band Deer Tick are slated to be the opening acts during the concert scheduled for Friday, Sept. 19.

Tickets for the show, which is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m., will cost $59.50, according to Ticketfly.com, and they will go on sale on Sat., June 21 at 11 a.m.

Other bands that will perform this summer at the stadium include Zac Brown Band, which will perform on June 21, Modest Mouse and Brand New, scheduled for Aug. 9 and Drake vs Lil Wayne, who will appear on Aug. 19.

The stadium, which opened in 1923, has recently undergone a renovation, including the installation of new seats and widened aisles.

The venue used to host the U.S. Open, before it moved to Flushing in 1977. It also held numerous concerts, including performances by The Rolling Stone and Frank Sinatra.

Last year, the stadium organized its first concert in 15 years with a sold-out performance by Mumford & Sons.

Tickets to all 2014 Forest Hills Stadium events will be available at ticketfly.com.
