FLUSHING — A bicyclist was struck and killed after he veered in front of a minivan on Roosevelt Avenue near Citi Field Tuesday afternoon, police said.

The unidentified 40-year-old man, who may be homeless, was heading westbound when he swerved into the path of the driver who was also driving westbound in a 2000 Mercury Villager near 126th Street about 1 p.m., according to the NYPD.

The mangled bike was nearly snapped in half by the impact.

The 45-year-old driver, who police would not identify, was briefly detained at the scene.

He was not immediately charged and police said their investigation is ongoing.
