JACKSON HEIGHTS — Frank’s Pharmacy, which has been closed since the massive fire at the Bruson Building damaged their space, will reopen nearby in a storefront that has been a neighborhood pharmacy since the 1930s, according to a real estate broker.

Frank’s Pharmacy, which has been on 37th Avenue near 75th Street for roughly 20 years, will move to the corner of 77th Street — the former location of Maram Pharmacy & Surgicals, which closed in September.

Frank's has been closed since the April fire, which left their storefront — and dozens of other businesses — without a place to go.

The owners of the pharmacy could not be reached for comment.

The new location has approximately 2,300-square-feet of space on the ground floor and about the same in the basement, according to CPEX, which leased the space.

Maram was open for 30 years before owner and pharmacist John Kranjac shuttered the space, citing high rent and a drop in profits. The location has been a pharmacy since the 1930s, Kranjac said.

The space saw interest from several national tenants, but the owner decided to go with the local business, according to George Danut from CPEX.

The owners “decided that the best use of the space is to allow this established local operator to continue to serve the community,” he said.
