Stockpile of Swords and Guns Found in Brooklyn Home, Police Say
BOROUGH PARK — Police recovered drugs and a cache of weapons — including guns, swords and a machete — in a search of a Borough Park home Thursday morning, according to the NYPD.
Investigators from the 62nd Precinct Special Operations Unit had information about possible weapons inside 175 Dahill Rd. and executed a search warrant about 7 a.m., police said.
Inside, they found weapons including a 9 mm Hi-Point rifle, .38-caliber semi-automatic handgun, eight swords, a machete and more than 250 rounds of ammunition, police said.
Investigators also found eight codeine tablets and a small amount of marijuana, police said.
Residents Michael Sylmetaj, 42, Bashkim Sylmetaj, 36, Adem Sylmetaj, 38, and Zenaida Vaysberg, 32, were arrested and face weapons and drug possession charges, police said.
It was not immediately clear if the people arrested were also suspected of selling drugs or weapons.
