ST. GEORGE — A soon-to-open Staten Island brewery pitching up an exclusive Summer Ale to serve as the Staten Island Yankees' official ballpark beer, according to the team's Twitter account.

Flagship Brewing Company brewed up the America's Pastime Summer Ale for the stadium — giving patrons a sneak taste of the beer at the Richmond County Bank Ballpark on Saturday when single day tickets for the season went on sale.

Fans also got a chance to meet and get autographs from outfielder Hideki Matsui at the event.

The Staten Island Yankees did not respond to requests for comment on the brew.

Flagship Brewing Company, which will be the first to brew beer on Staten Island in more than 50 years, secured a lease at 215 Bay St., St. George, in January and was awarded a grant by the New York City Economic Development Corporation in December.

After some delays, the brewery and its tasting room is expected to open to the public in May.

The minor league Yankees will start their season with a home game against the Brooklyn Cyclones on June 13.
