INWOOD — An Inwood fitness instructor will make Inwood Hill Park his classroom.

Strength and conditioning instructor Eoghan O'Kelly, who's originally from Ireland, is launching two new group training classes in the park, where uptowners will be able take in the sounds of nature while they get in shape.

O'Kelly will offer two classes: a less intense movement and mobility class aimed at helping people with back pain and those who haven't been working out, and a tougher conditioning class for those that want to get toned and build strength.

"The classes are scaled to your own fitness ability," O'Kelly, 26, said. "Each person who joins will have an individual assessment with me, so I’ll know how they’ll react and which exercises they can and can't do."

The classes will be capped at 12 students each, O'Kelly said, ensuring that each individual can get the attention they need.

O'Kelly, a former semiprofessional soccer player who trains mainly athletes and youth footballers, said his exercises will help increase core strength and and stability.

The six-week-long sessions will run twice weekly during mornings in the park and will start in late April. The sessions cost $149. For more information, visit ofit-ny.com/group-training.
