CLINTON HILL — The stretch of Myrtle Avenue in Fort Greene and Clinton Hill has become a magnet for new businesses.

Six new spots have opened in recent months — Brooklyn Sweet Spot, Corkscrew Brooklyn, Tipsy, NYtronix, Peck’s and Humo Smokehouse — and five additional businesses are set to open on the avenue soon: Brewklyn Grind, Buon Gusto Italian Pizzeria, El Patron, Myrtle Bagel and The Runner.

Storefronts on the strip are hot, according to Myrtle Avenue Brooklyn Partnership director Blaise Backer.

"With many recent lease signings, business activity continues to pick up on Myrtle, with the retail vacancy rate holding steady at the avenue’s all-time low of 5 percent for four straight quarters," he said. "If storefronts are priced correctly, they get snapped up right away.”

DNAinfo New York rounded up details on Myrtle Avenue's upcoming offerings.

Brewklyn Grind

The coffee roaster headquartered in Red Hook will open its first retail outlet in Clinton Hill. Set to be located at 557 Myrtle Ave. near Classon Avenue, Brewklyn Grind is run by three brothers born and raised in Brooklyn.

Craig, Alain and James Farrelly handpick beans from farmers in locations including Hawaii and Peru in order to get a wide range of in-season varieties. The brothers then roast the beans in small batches at their Red Hook warehouse.

"We only roast to order, which ensures that customers capture the 'optimal' point along the freshness curve, and are able to supply within hours of roasting," the owners told the website Find. Eat. Drink. "All our coffees are hand-packaged, stamped with the roast date and sold within hours."

Brewklyn Grind will sell coffee and loose leaf tea, and will open this winter, according to the Partnership.

Buon Gusto Italian Pizzeria

This new pizza place is set to open at 499 Myrtle Ave. at Ryerson Street. The restaurant will offer a "large, mainly takeout menu of extensive pizza offerings, antipastos, salads, dinners, jalapeno poppers, 15 different hot hero choices, calzones, paninis and soups," according to the Partnership. It's also set to open this winter.

Myrtle Bagel

From the owners of La Bagel Delight on Lafayette Avenue in Fort Greene, Myrtle Bagel will open shop at 410 Myrtle Ave. near Vanderbilt Avenue. The bagel place will sell fresh, hand-rolled bagels, eggs and hot-off-the-grill items. It will open this winter as well, the Partnership said.

El Patron

Set to open at 474 Myrtle Ave. near Hall Street, this Latin restaurant will serve items like fajitas, guacamole, bandeja paisa and margaritas. It's set to open this month.

The Runner

This restaurant serving "American heritage" cuisine will open at 458 Myrtle Ave. at Washington Avenue, according to its website. Its executive chef, Andrew Burman, is the former sandwich maker at Court Street Grocers. The restaurant is set to open this month for dinner and drinks.
