QUEENS — A woman died Tuesday morning after being brought to Jamaica Hospital with a gunshot wound to her head by aquaintences who piled her into a livery cab, police sources said.

The 38-year old Harlem woman, whose name was not immediately released, was brought to the hospital about 10:40 a.m. and pronounced dead, police said.

Police sources said they believe the woman was shot somewhere in the Jamaica area, but the exact location was not known. Sources say a man and a woman who knew the victim put her into a livery cab and drove with her to the hospital.

The man left, while the woman, described as being in her 20s, stayed at the hospital. No arrests have been made and an investigation is ongoing.
