OZONE PARK — A man stabbed his wife with a knife, accusing her of cheating on him, and his children ran into the street as their mother struggled to survive, police and reports said.

Adablerto Sanchez, 50, was arrested and charged with murder, criminal possession of a weapon, and endangering the welfare of a child on Saturday after police nabbed him in the alleged attack on Friday just before 3 a.m.

The family's three children ran out of the house in the melee and one of them dialed 911, the NY Daily News reported.

Police found Josefa Sanchez, 41, unconscious with stab wounds in her chest inside a locked bedroom at the family's 80th Street home, near Liberty Avenue, police said. She was rushed to Jamaica Hospital but could not be saved.

Her husband was arrested after police discovered him clutching a same knife in the next room, with apparently self-inflicted stab wounds in his own stomach, police said. He was rushed to the hospital and in stable condition Saturday.

According to the News, the man suspected his wife of cheating on him.

The knife was recovered at the scene and an investigation was ongoing, police said.
