Man Hit on Head With Glass Bottle Outside Angry Wade's Bar, Cops Say

COBBLE HILL — A man was struck on the head with a glass bottle outside Smith Street bar Angry Wade’s, police say.

Two attackers smashed the bottle on the back of the 41-year-old victim’s head at approximately 1:00 a.m. last Wednesday outside the neighborhood watering hole at 222 Smith St.

The victim was rushed to New York Methodist Hospital, where he received stitches, cops say.

Days later, a 25-year-old woman was punched and kicked by a group of people outside Phil’s Crummy Corner bar on Columbia Street. The victim told police she was attacked by four people, including one woman, during the 3:40 a.m. beating on Sept. 22.

The victim refused medical attention at the scene, police said.

Management at Angry Wade's and Phil's Crummy Corner did not immediately respond to calls for comment.

Other notable crimes in the 76th Precinct included the following:

1. A rubbish fire was set in the hallway of Red Hook West Houses, Sept. 18 about 6:30 a.m. Police were uncertain of damage caused.

2. A $1,500 Fairdale bicycle was stolen at Smith and Ninth Streets along with a $100 bag, a $600 iPhone and $200 worth of clothing, Sept. 20 about 11:00 p.m.

3. More than $7,000 worth of tools and accessories, including tow lights, chains and batteries, were stolen from a truck belonging to Red Hook Performance, an auto repair shop, Sept. 19.

4. Felix Medina, 49, was arrested after breaking into Court Street Grocers on Sept. 21 about 4:15 a.m.
