EAST ELMHURST — A woman was killed in her vehicle on the Grand Central Parkway on Saturday night after running into another car and skidding off towards a median, police said.

The driver, who was the only passenger in the vehicle, was headed westbound at 11:55 p.m. in her 2006 Nissan Sentra when she drifted from the center lane and struck a car in the lane to her left, police said, near 94th Street.

After striking the other sedan, she crossed several lanes of traffic and finally struck the center median strip, police said. The woman, who had not yet been identified Sunday afternoon, was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital and declared dead on arrival, police said.

An investigation was ongoing, but no other injuries were reported, according to police.
