Firefighter Injured During Training on Randall's Island, FDNY Says
RANDALL'S ISLAND — A firefighter was injured on Randall's Island during a training exercise Thursday morning, the fire department said.
The injury happened about 10:55 a.m. on the island, where the FDNY has training facilities and their fire academy. The firefighter, who is active and was not going through the academy, suffered "non life-threatening" injuries, the fire department added.
He was taken to New York Presbyterian Hospital, officials said.
