UPPER EAST SIDE — City Council Member Jessica Lappin has landed another construction workers union endorsement in her bid for borough president.

Plumbers Local 1 announced its support of Lappin on Wednesday, the Council Member and a Union leader said.

“Jessica Lappin has been a great friend of our union and a powerful ally of working New Yorkers everywhere — whether it’s working to create new jobs, fighting for fair wages or protecting essential services for seniors,” John J. Murphy, business manager of Plumbers Local 1, said in a statement.

“We’re proud to endorse Jessica and look forward to doing everything we can to make sure she wins in September.”

“I’m excited to have the endorsement of Plumbers Local 1,” said Lappin, who represents the Upper East Side, adding that she's "excited to have the endorsement."

“They’re a key part of the city’s building trades, and a union with a long, proud history of helping to build the city we know today,” Lappin said in a statement.

The endorsement comes shortly after the Building and Construction Trades Council of Greater New York — which boasts of having more than 100,000 members — backed Lappin's campaign, according to reports.

In addition to bolstering support from the construction industry, Lappin has many union heavyweights behind her bid, including the 32 BJ SEIU, Teamsters Joint Council 16 and the United Food & Commercial Workers Local 1500, her campaign said.
