GREENPOINT — A woman was reportedly held up at knifepoint and raped on a Greenpoint sidewalk because the attacker said she was "gay."

The woman, who was allegedly attacked just after midnight Sunday, was walking on Java Street near Manhattan Avenue when the attacker held a knife to her face and then pulled her down on the ground and raped her, the Brooklyn Paper reported.

"I'm doing this to you because you're gay," he reportedly said while he was raping her.

The woman was reportedly taken to Woodhull Hospital and was in stable condition, and cops are searching for the suspect.

Police from Greenpoint and Williamsburg's 94th Precinct did not immediately respond to requests for confirmation or comment on the incident. It was unclear whether the alleged attack is being investigated as a hate crime.
