TIMES SQUARE — A man was slashed in the face outside the former Times Square Hotel early Tuesday, officials said.

The victim was cut by an unidentified passerby near West 43rd Street at Eighth Avenue about 1:20 a.m., officials said. The building has since been converted to single-room occupancy apartments run by Common Ground, a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving homeless and formerly homeless people.

A spokeswoman for Common Ground said Tuesday she did not immediately have any information on the incident. It was not immediately clear whether the victim or the suspect were residents at the building.

The victim, whose identity was not released, was taken to Bellevue Hospital Center in stable condition. No arrests have been made.
