WILLIAMSBURG — A giant community building on the Williamsburg waterfront is set to open by the end of June, city officials said.

Bushwick Inlet Park's new building — which features a green roof, shade structures and two community rooms beside East River State Park — should be open by the end of this month, North Brooklyn Parks Department's leader Ed Janoff said at a recent Williamsburg Community Board 1 meeting.

The building, set back from Bushwick Inlet Park's soccer field, will also include Parks Department offices and will use solar power for at least half of the center's energy, the building's architect notes on its website.

The Parks Department said a specific date has not yet been set for the building's opening.
