WILLIAMSBURG — A motorist died after his eastbound Nissan Altima slammed into a barrier near an on-ramp to the Williamsburg Bridge Tuesday morning, officials said.

The man, believed to be in his 30s, crashed near South 5th Street and Havemeyer Street about 4:30 a.m., according to police sources and the FDNY.

The victim, whose identity was not immediately released, was rushed to Woodhull Hospital, where he later died, an NYPD spokesman said.

No other injuries were reported.

Another single-car crash occurred nearby in May, when a drunk driver lost control of her car and crashed near South 4th Street and Roebling Street, killing one of her passengers and injuring three others.
