MANHATTAN — The FBI arrested a Texas actress Friday who allegedly sent Mayor Michael Bloomberg a ricin-laced letter in an attempt to frame her husband as she divorced him, law enforcement sources said.

Shannon Richardson, 35, of New Boston, Texas, who has appeared on "The Walking Dead" and "The Vampire Diaries," allegedly contacted the FBI saying her husband was ranting about his weapons and was angry at officials, including Bloomberg, who he felt might take them away, sources added.

Investigators became suspicious when the information she gave didn't seem to line up and the husband denied he had anything to do with the mailing.

Richardson had filed for divorce soon after the story about the letter broke on May 29.

The letter, which was mailed from Louisiana, referenced the mayor's advocacy on gun control and threatened his life.

"You’re not going to take my guns. You’ll have to kill me before you take my guns. If you take my guns, you should see what I’m going to do to you,” the letter reportedly read.

Formal charges were reportedly going to be filed against Richardson Friday afternoon.
