Motorcyclist Hurt in Lower East Side Crash

 The biker suffered multiple fractures and was taken to Bellevue Hospital.

LOWER EAST SIDE — A motorcyclist collided with a truck on the corner of Essex and Broome streets just after midday Tuesday, leaving the biker with broken bones, according to the city's Fire Department.

The crash between a Benfield Electric Supplies truck and the motorcyclist, who was riding a Harley-Davidson bike, occurred about 12:15 p.m., officials said.

The FDNY said the male biker suffered multiple fractures, and police officers on the scene said he had broken a leg.

The biker appeared to be conscious, talking to police and moving his hands as he was put into the ambulance. He was taken to Bellevue Hospital

The driver remained at the scene, but declined to comment on the incident.
