3-Year-Old Grabs $500 From Mom, Man Snatches It and Flees, Cops Say

NEW YORK CITY — A 3-year-old lifted $500 from his mom's jacket inside a Longwood liquor store Friday, but then a man snatched the cash from the boy's hands and fled, cops said.

While she was distracted, the curious tot fished the cash from his mom's jacket pocket about 10:50 a.m. within  a liquor store at 1045 E. 163rd St., according to the NYPD.

A man nearby saw the boy come up with the bills, pried them from his hand, and fled the store, police said.

The suspect, whom cops described as about 5-feet-9-inches tall and approximately 240 pounds, was last seen wearing black pants, flip flops, and a blue hoodie with white lettering on the front.
