BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — The manager of a Brooklyn grocery store was shot in the shoulder during an armed robbery Monday afternoon, authorities said.

The gunman entered Fine Fare Supermarket at 33 Truxton St. in Bedford-Stuyvesant, about 3:55 p.m., police said. Cops were investigating what led the suspect to open fire.

The manager, 24, who friends said was a father, was rushed to Brookdale Hospital, where he was in stable condition, authorities said.

"I heard a shot, and I saw him go down on floor," said a worker at the store, who added that he did not see the shooter.

The manager was rushed to Brookdale Hospital, where he was in stable condition, authorities said.

The robber fled the store and remained at large as of Monday evening.

"I've been coming here for years, nothing's ever happened," said Gail, 45, who stops by the store once a week for her 67-year-old mother and was surprised to see the police tape on Monday. She declined to give her last name.

"It's shocking," she continued. "It's such a lovely supermarket. I hope they catch him."
