MIDTOWN SOUTH — A 48-year-old city corrections officer was caught red-handed trying to smuggle clothes out of Macy's without paying, police said.

Michael Crowe, 48, was arrested at 10:14 p.m. on Saturday night after one of the department store's security guards spotted the fast-fingered corrections officers taking off from the store with clothing that he hadn't paid for, police said.

Crowe, who was arrested in the Midtown South precinct, faces charges of burglary, criminal possession of stolen property, and petit larceny for making off with less than $1,000 in goods, police said.
