MIDTOWN — A car caught fire outside the Port Authority Bus Terminal Monday morning, stranding outbound buses outside the Lincoln Tunnel at the tail end of rush hour, authorities reported.

The blaze broke out about 9:20 a.m. on a ramp connecting the terminal and the tunnel, the FDNY and Port Authority said. No one was reported injured, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Outbound bus service was temporarily suspended, prompting delays of 30 to 45 minutes, a Port Authority spokesman said. Regular outbound traffic outside the bus terminal was not affected.
