BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — Eight people were injured, two seriously, after a vehicle hit a school bus in Bedford-Stuyvesant Tuesday afternoon, officials said.

The accident happened at the intersection of Macon Street and Tompkins Avenue about 3 p.m. when the vehicle crossed lanes and hit the bus on the right side, a Department of Education spokeswoman said.

Four students were on the bus and they were all taken to Kings County Hospital for observation, as well as the bus driver, who suffered back pains, the spokeswoman added.

The students were later released to their parents.
