A 79-year-old man was found dead of a gunshot wound inside his Bushwick home on Feb. 24, 2013.

BUSHWICK — A 79-year-old man was found dead of a gunshot wound inside his Brooklyn home early Sunday morning, police said.

Police responding to a 911 call found James Jackson, 79, unconscious in his Gates Avenue home around 2:24 a.m., with a bullet wound in his neck, police said. 

Jackson was rushed to Woodhull Hospital, but declared dead on arrival, police said.

An investigation is ongoing, police said.
