Burglars Gain Access to Three Gramercy Homes Through Open Doors, Cops Say

By Aidan Gardiner | February 12, 2013 8:06am

GRAMERCY — A pair of burglars gained access to three Gramercy homes last month by simply walking through their front doors, according to the NYPD.

The suspects struck three times — on Jan. 10 and Jan. 14 — in the vicinity of the 13th Precinct, which covers Gramercy, the Flatiron, and Stuy Town, police said.

In each instance, the thieves entered the homes through an open door, cops said.

They made off with an undisclosed amount of cash and other property, police added.

The NYPD said one of the suspects was last seen wearing a black hoodie, dark pants, black and white sneakers, and a black backpack. The other alleged burglar was last seen wearing a blue waste-length jacket, khaki colored pants, white sneakers and a dark backpack.

Both suspects are believed to be approximately 5-feet-8-inches tall, cops said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS (8477) or to visit www.nypdcrimestoppers.com.
