NEW YORK CITY — The 7 train experienced some delays during Friday morning's rush-hour as Snowstorm Nemo loomed over the city, the MTA said.

The train wasn't experiencing any mechanical problems directly caused by the storm, an MTA spokesman said, but rather commuters were taking longer to get on and off the cars.

Most of the stations on the 7 line are outdoors and the spokesman said commuters may have been reacting to the adverse weather.

The trains were only delayed for a couple minutes and on the Manhattan-bound side, though both directions were affected, he said.

The snowstorm — dubbed by the Weather Channel as Winter Storm Nemo — is set to worsen come nightfall and could dump over a foot of snow on the city.

The MTA plans to run regular subway and bus service through the storm, but buses may grounded if the storm becomes too severe, officials warned.
