VIDEO: Nun Chucks-Wielding Teen Attacks Man in Manhattan Subway Station

By Nigel Chiwaya | January 31, 2013 9:05am

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS — A nun chucks-wielding teenager attacked a man in a vicious robbery attempt in a Washington Heights subway station earlier this month, police said.

The 25-year-old victim was approached by the teenager and two other suspects at the West 157th Street subway station on Jan. 6 about 4:15 a.m., according to the NYPD. The suspects told the victim they liked his jacket and wanted it, police said.

That's when they started began beating the man, punching and stomping him. When the victim tried to fight off the assailants, one of the teens pulled the nun chucks and started wailing away, police said.

Security surveillance footage at the station captured the vicious attack.

Cops say the man escaped through the station turnstile. He was treated at New York Presbyterian for lacerations to the head and later released.

The suspects are described as young males between the ages of 17 and 19, standing about 5 feet-7-inches and weighing 150 pounds.

One of the teenagers is seen wearing a grey jacket and a yellow and burgundy baseball hat. Another suspect was wearing a grey jacket and a green baseball hat. And the third young man was seen wearing a black T-shirt and a gray-and-black checkered scarf.
