NEW YORK CITY — Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was reportedly treated for a blood clot in her head at a local hospital Monday.
Clinton was admitted Sunday to New York-Presbyterian Columbia Medical Center on West 168th Street, CNN reported, after doctors reportedly found the clot that resulted from a concussion Clinton suffered earlier this month.
The clot is not life-threatening, a spokesman for Clinton and her doctors told the Washington Post in a statement. Clinton's doctors predicted that she would recover completely, but they did not say whether she would be able to travel again for her job.
“The scan revealed that a right transverse sinus venous thrombosis had formed. This is a clot in the vein that is situated in the space between the brain and the skull behind the right ear,” the statement said. “It did not result in a stroke, or neurological damage.”
New York-Presbyterian Hospital routed all questions to the Department of State. The Department of State did not immediately respond to calls requesting comment.
