Hit-and-Run in Times Square Leaves Police Officer Injured

MIDTOWN — A hit-and-run in Times Square Tuesday evening left a police officer injured, cops said.

The officer was attempting to stop a car on foot on Seventh Avenue between West 42nd and 43rd streets around 7:15 p.m. when the vehicle struck him and then fled the scene, police said.

The officer was transported to Cornell Hospital with minor injuries to his neck and back, police said.

It wasn’t immediately clear what kind of vehicle struck the officer. The investigation is ongoing.
