Cops Arrest Man Suspected of Attempted Rape in Harlem

Police have arrested and charged Twuan Darby, 37, with attempted rape, sexual abuse and burglary.

HARLEM — Cops have arrested a man who they say tried to rape a 24-year-old woman inside a West Harlem apartment building early Saturday.

Police said Twuan Darby, 37, followed the victim into her building and tried to rape her on the steps about 12:20 a.m. The woman fought him off and escaped.

Darby, of the Mott Haven section of the Bronx, has been charged with attempted rape, sexual abuse and burglary.

He has a slew of prior convictions for assault and narcotics possession, police said.
