HARLEM — A 32-year-old Bronx man was shot and killed on West 126th Street late Tuesday, the NYPD said.

Jermaine Smalls was lying on the sidewalk at 137 W. 126th St., near Seventh Avenue, when cops were called to the scene just before midnight, police said.

Smalls was rushed to Harlem Hospital Center, where doctors pronounced him dead, police said.

The circumstances of the shooting were not immediately unclear. No one has been arrested, but police said the investigation was ongoing.

Residents said though the shooting was unsettling, they were not concerned of the widespread violence of the old days returning.

“It's the first time I've seen shooting here, fortunately," said a 50-year-old man who’s lived on the block for four years and overheard the gunshots. “Frankly, I am not concerned. It came with the territory of living in New York."
