Man Tried to Rape Teen in Queens Park, Police Say

Police hope to identify this man they believe tried to rape a young woman in Queens on Aug. 21, 2012.

AUBURNDALE — Cops are hunting for a man they say tried to rape a 17-year-old girl in Peck Park last month.

The man knocked the young girl to the ground around 11:30 p.m. on Aug. 21, but she kicked her attacker in the chest and fled the scene, police said.

Police described the attacker as bald, roughly 5-foot-11, middle-aged, about 225 pounds and speaking with an Eastern European accent.
