
LOWER EAST SIDE — A 29-year-old man was shot to death after a fight at a barbershop Saturday night escalated, according to reports.
Police responded to 911 calls from Jose Beauty Salon and Barber Shop at 9:30 p.m., and upon arriving found that a man had been shot and rushed to the hospital by someone at the shop, police said.
The victim, identified as Charles Hernandez, of NoLita, was later found at Bellevue Hospital, and d of died with a gunshot wound in his chest, police said.
The fatal shooting began with a dispute that erupted inside the 110 Forsyth Street barber shop and spilled out onto the street, the New York Post reported.
Police have not made any arrests, but an investigation is ongoing, police said. The victim's identity had not yet been released Sunday pending family notification.
