WEST VILLAGE — A 34-year-old woman was struck and killed by a No. 2 train at the 14th Street subway station Tuesday morning, authorities said.

The unidentified victim was hit about 9:15 a.m. by a northbound train entering the station at Seventh Avenue, officials said.

It was not immediately clear whether the woman fell or jumped onto the tracks, officials said. The train struck the woman when it was three-cars deep in the station.

As a result, 1 and 3 trains were running local between the Times Square and Chambers Street stations, bypassing the 14th Street station, according to the MTA.

Service on the 2 line was running express along the 5 train tracks, officials added. Service resumed at 10:42 a.m., MTA said.

An investigation is ongoing.
