BOROUGH PARK — A teenaged boy in Borough Park is in critical condition Tuesday after colliding with a minivan while riding his bicycle.

The teen sustained severe trauma to the body and was taken to Lutheran Medical Center in critical condition, NYPD said.

A fire spokesman said the victim was transported before an FDNY emergency crew arrived, possibly by Hatzalah, a volunteer EMS group that serves the Orthodox Jewish community.

The 13-year-old was riding his bike east on 47th Street when he smacked into a grey 2012 Honda Odyssey headed south on 12th Avenue at about 5:45 a.m., police said. There was damage to the right rear-side of the minivan.

Police said the car's driver remained on scene and there is no criminality suspected at this time.
