MIDTOWN EAST — An unidentified woman jumped from a luxury Manhattan apartment building on Sunday morning and died, police officials said.

The woman jumped from the 18th floor of 420 East 54th Street, between First Avenue and Sutton Place, at 10:40 a.m., the NYPD said.

She was declared dead at the scene, police said.

It was unclear immediately whether or not she lived in the building, but it appeared she was emotionally disturbed, a police spokesman said.

Calls to the building's property management company, Equity Residential, were not immediately returned Sunday.
