Man Shot Outside Linden Houses

EAST NEW YORK — A 23-year-old man was shot to death just steps from his apartment building Saturday afternoon, police said.

James Hilton, who lived in the Linden Houses, near where the shooting took place, was found shot in the torso outside 580 Stanley Ave. at 5:46 p.m., police said.

Rescuers rushed Hilton to Brookdale Hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival, cops said.

The NYPD said an investigation is ongoing, and that no arrests had been made.
