BAY RIDGE — A shopkeeper was found dead of a gunshot wound on Friday night inside his clothing store, according to published reports and the NYPD.

The victim, who police identified as Mohamed Gelebi, 65, was found unconcious and unresponsive on the floor of the Fifth Avenue shop near 77th Street in Bay Ridge, police said.

When police responded to a call at 11:13 p.m., they sad they found the man had sustained a bullet wound to his neck, they said. Gelebi was transported to Lutheran Hospital, but was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Police said Gelebi lived on 76th Street, and the New York Daily News reported that he seldom was noticied by neighbors to still be in the storefront after closing time at 7 p.m. closing in the storefront.  Police said an investigation into the homicide was ongoing, and that no arrests had been made.
