Sarah Jessica Parker to Host Dinner Party for Barack and Michelle Obama

MANHATTAN — One of the most famous Greenwich Village residents is inviting two lucky contest winners to a dinner at her home with President Barack Obama and the First Lady.

"Sex and the City" star Sarah Jessica Parker appears in a new web video urging Obama supporters to donate to the president's campaign and enter a raffle by 12 midnight Tuesday for a chance to win tickets to a June 14 fundraising dinner.

In a video published Monday on BarackObama.com, a smiling Parker refers to the president as "that guy."

"The guy who ended the war in Iraq, the guy who says you should be able to marry anyone you want and the guy who created 4 million new jobs — that guy, President Obama — and Michelle, are coming to my house for dinner on June 14 and I want you to be there, too," Parker said.

"We need him and he needs us."

Winners will also get to attend a concert by singer Mariah Carey, according to Obama's website.

Each pair of seats at the table, for two winners and their guests, are valued at $1,900, the website said.

Parker's rep did not immediately respond to an inquiry about how many guests will attend the dinner or how much they will pay.

Vogue editor Anna Wintour, who hosted an Obama fundraiser with Scarlett Johansson in February, plugged the "New York Night" dinner in a video published Friday.

"It will be a fantastic evening and you can join us," Wintour said, wearing a silk scarf printed with Obama's logo. "We're saving the two best seats in the house for you."

With a nod to her reputation for harshness, she warned contest entrants "don't be late."

George Clooney raised an estimated $15 million for Obama at a May 10 dinner in his Los Angeles home, which the president attended, the Los Angeles Times reported. VIPs including Barbra Streisand, Robert Downey Jr. and producer J.J. Abrams paid $40,000 each.

A Florida mother and New Jersey science teacher won tickets to that dinner, according to the Times.
