UNION SQUARE — A truck hit and killed 21-year-old Roxanna Sorina-Buta in Union Square early Thursday before fleeing the scene, NYPD officials said.
Sorina-Buta, a Queens resident, was transported to Beth Israel Hospital, police said. She was pronounced dead on arrival.
The truck, which was turning right onto Broadway from East 14th Street, hit Sorina-Buta as she crossed Broadway shortly before 1:30 a.m., according to the NYPD. The vehicle continued driving south.
There had been no arrests as of Thursday afternoon.
