NEW YORK CITY - A Long Island Rail Road train hit a man who was on the tracks at Rosedale station Friday night, authorities said.

The westbound train was pulling into the station and slowing to stop around 11 p.m. when it hit Devon Toliver, 32, of Jamaica, who was on the tracks at the western end of the platform, an MTA spokesman said.

It was unclear what Toliver was doing on the tracks and the matter is under investigation by the MTA police, the spokesman said.

Toliver was taken from the scene at Francis Lewis Boulevard and Sunrise Highway to Jamaica Hospital.
