BROOKLYN — A young boy was struck by a vehicle in Sunset Park Friday morning, authorities and witnesses said.

The boy, believed to be 3 years old, was hit at the intersection of Fourth Avenue and 44th Street shortly after 8:30 a.m., the FDNY said.

The boy was taken to Lutheran Medical Center in unknown condition, officials added.

A witness said he saw the boy laying conscious on the street after the incident with blood on his forehead.

Benjamin King, 34, explained that the driver behind the wheel of a black SUV stopped the car after striking the boy and spoke with his father.

It was not immediately clear whether the driver had been charged.
