FLATLANDS — A 3-year-old boy who had stopped breathing was rushed to Beth Israel Medical Center in Brooklyn late Wednesday morning, the FDNY said.

At 10:57 a.m., police and EMTs responded to a second-floor apartment at 3900 Kings Highway in the Flatlands section of Brooklyn, where the boy reportedly wasn’t breathing and was turning blue.

"I saw the kid, he did not look good," said Eddy Javier, the building's superintendent, who tried to help the EMTs. "I held the door open for them so they could move faster."

Police and fire officials have declined to release the boy’s identity or state where exactly the boy was found, but the building’s superintendent told DNAinfo that the incident occurred in a private apartment in the building.

The incident remains under investigation.
