BROOKLYN HEIGHTS—A car jumped the curb and slammed into the front of a restaurant Wednesday morning, injuring one person, officials said.

The vehicle crashed into Fatoosh, the popular Middle Eastern joint on Hicks Street by Atlantic Avenue, at 11 a.m., fire officials said. The blue Nissan Sentra hit the business' roll-down gate and destroyed the front entrance of the establishment, which was closed at the time.

An occupant of the car was injured and taken to Long Island College Hospital, fire officials said. No pedestrians were hurt in the crash.

Fire officials said the car, which was heading north on Hicks Street, rammed the building after an accident with another car.
